PVC Pressure Telescopic Repair Coupling (Slipfix)

Use these Telescopic repair couplings to repair broken pipe. Like the name suggests, these fittings are telescopic so after exposing a break and cutting away a section, each end of this coupling can simply slip over the exposed PVC pipe.

The PVC fittings we sell are all high quality and are used on all of our installations. They are rated for mains pressure and can be exposed to the sun and weather.

Note: Not suitable for use with DWV/Sewer PVC pipe.

How To Use

  1. Safety first: Before starting any repair work, ensure that you have the necessary safety equipment, such as gloves and safety glasses, to protect yourself.

  2. Turn off the water supply: Locate the main water supply valve and turn it off. This will prevent any water from flowing through the pipe while you work on it.

  3. Assess the damage: Examine the PVC pipe to identify the damaged section that needs to be repaired. Look for cracks, leaks, or any other visible signs of damage.

  4. Cut out the damaged section: Use a PVC pipe cutter or a hacksaw to carefully cut out the damaged portion of the pipe. Make straight cuts on both ends to ensure a clean and even surface.

  5. Prepare the pipe ends: Use a utility knife or sandpaper to clean and smooth the cut ends of the existing PVC pipe. Remove any burrs or rough edges to ensure a proper fit for the repair coupling.

  6. Select the appropriate repair coupling: Choose a PVC Pressure Telescopic Repair Coupling (Slipfix) that matches the size of the existing PVC pipe and the measured gap. These couplings are available in various sizes, so make sure you have the right one for your repair.

  7. Extend the coupling: Loosen the telescopic mechanism on the repair coupling by turning the threaded nut or collar. Extend the coupling to its maximum length, making it slightly longer than the measured gap between the pipe ends.

  8. Position the repair coupling: Slide one end of the repair coupling onto one of the cut pipe ends, ensuring that it fits securely and snugly. Repeat this step for the other pipe end.

  9. Secure the coupling: Tighten the threaded nut or collar on the repair coupling to lock it in place. Use pliers or a wrench to provide the necessary torque and ensure a tight seal.

  10. Test for leaks: Once the coupling is securely in place, turn on the water supply and check for any leaks around the repaired area. If you notice any leaks, tighten the coupling further until the leaks stop.

  11. Restore water supply: If there are no leaks, fully open the main water supply valve to restore the water flow through the repaired PVC pipe.
