The Kelco TWM Series Heavy Duty Trailing Wire Flow Switch is designed for reliable flow detection in challenging applications where conventional paddles are unsuitable. Using a flexible 2mm stainless steel wire sensor instead of a paddle, the TWM is ideal for slurry, sewage, mining, and high-velocity liquid applications, as well as open discharge and large-diameter pipe systems from 50mm upwards.
Built with a 316 stainless steel 1" BSP or NPT process connection and a machined billet aluminium housing, the TWM features a seal-less magnetic drive for long service life and minimal maintenance. The standard SPDT 500V, 15A microswitch allows direct control of motors up to 0.5HP at 240V AC or integration into relay logic and PLC circuits.
A built-in manual override enables manual pump/system start-up and simplifies commissioning. The TWM is available with trailing wire lengths from 50mm to 300mm, and wires can be trimmed to suit specific flow conditions (ends must be silver-soldered or TIG-welded after trimming). Rated to 400 bar (5800 psi), the TWM offers extreme durability for harsh industrial environments.

Wire Trimming Calculator
As with our Paddle Flow Switches, the Trailing Wires for our TWM Series can be cut down in length to suit your pipework if needed. Please refer to our Paddle Trimming Calculator to find the correct wire length for your application. The width of the wires is 2mm.
Please note that if you do cut down the length of your trailing wire, you must either silver solder or tig weld the end of the wire to prevent fraying.
