UV Guard's SLT-Series technology utilizes Ultra-Violet light in the germicidal wavelength range of 200-300 nanometers. The most effective UV wavelength for disinfection is 264 nanometers, found within the UV-C spectrum. When microorganisms come into contact with these germicidal wavelengths, they are either destroyed or unable to reproduce. This is achieved by the high energy of UV-C light being absorbed by the DNA of bacteria, viruses, spores, and other pathogens, leading to genetic abnormalities and rendering them unable to infect.
