DOWNLOAD PRODUCT BROCHURE |
The Bermad IR-423 is a high-performance hydraulically operated, diaphragm-actuated control valve designed to deliver two essential pressure management functions in a single unit. It sustains a minimum preset upstream pressure (pressure sustaining) while also limiting downstream pressure to a maximum preset level (pressure reducing), regardless of varying system demand or fluctuations in upstream pressure.
Ideal for systems using fixed-speed pumps, the IR-423 stabilizes mainline pressure across different flow rates and irrigation shifts, ensuring the optimal operation of irrigation and pumping systems. By combining pressure reducing and sustaining in one valve, the IR-423 helps safeguard pump operation, protect downstream equipment, and optimize system performance in complex hydraulic networks.
APPLICATIONS
- Downhill or gravity-fed supply lines
- Pressure zone management (high/low)
- Fixed-speed pump installations
- Deep well drawdown compensation
- Controlled pipeline fill-up
- Cavitation and overload protection
- Preventing system emptying on shutdown
FEATURES
- Dual function: combines pressure reducing and sustaining in one valve
- Line pressure driven: no external power required
- Protects lower pressure zones from overpressure
- Maintains upstream pressure for pump protection and priority zone supply
- Controls system fill-up to prevent surges and pipeline damage
- Prevents downstream overpressure under fluctuating flow conditions
- Prevents emptying of pipelines and cavitation damage
- Globe-pattern valve body with hydro-efficient, high-flow design
- Single moving part for simplified maintenance
- Fully supported and balanced diaphragm allows precise regulation at low flow
- Progressive valve closing to prevent water hammer and diaphragm wear
- In-line serviceable with easy pressure adjustments
