The Kelco TW Series Trailing Wire Flow Switch is a robust, heavy-duty flow sensing solution for challenging applications where solids, slurries, or high-velocity flows make conventional paddle switches unsuitable. Using a flexible 2mm stainless steel wire sensor, the TW Series is ideal for open discharge points or pipe sizes from 50mm upwards.
Available with either an all-polypropylene process connection (18 bar rated) or a high-pressure 316 stainless steel process connection (400 bar rated), and with 1" BSP or NPT threads, the TW can be configured to suit a wide range of installations. The TW-H models feature a 500V AC, 15A SPDT microswitch for general control circuits and include a manual override for testing and commissioning. The TW-RL models use an SPDT dry contact reed switch for low-voltage PLC, telemetry, and intrinsically safe hazardous area applications (when isolated via a Zener barrier).
The modular design allows the electrical module to be removed without disturbing pipework. Wire lengths from 50mm to 300mm are available, and can be trimmed for optimal performance—ends must be silver-soldered or TIG-welded after trimming to prevent fraying.

Wire Trimming Calculator
As with our Paddle Flow Switches, the Trailing Wires for our TW Series can be cut down in length to suit your pipework if needed. Please refer to our Paddle Trimming Calculator to find the correct wire length for your application. The width of the wires is 2mm.
Please note that if you do cut down the length of your trailing wire, you must either silver solder or tig weld the end of the wire to prevent fraying.
