The Matelec HydroSTART FPC-82243 is a heavy-duty dual pump controller engineered for high-demand three-phase applications such as sewage pump-out, stormwater transfer, pressure boosting, and industrial water systems. Combining advanced control technology with a robust IP56-rated powder-coated steel enclosure and inner door, it delivers reliable performance in even the harshest environments.

Equipped with a modern capacitive touch keypad, LED status indicators, and integrated pump current sensing, the HydroSTART provides wide-range overload, undercurrent, and zero-current protection. Its six configurable digital inputs allow for flexible setup using float switches, pressure switches, prime loss detection, or system enable functions.

The FPC-82243 supports both Level Control Mode (up to 5 float switches) and Pressure Control Mode (up to 3 pressure switches) to suit varied pumping system designs. Smart features such as duty sharing/alternation, staggered pump starts, anti-seize cycling, and “smart chirp” auto-silencing alarms help reduce downtime, prevent wear, and improve efficiency.

Functions

• Level control mode – Level empty operation controlled by up to 5 float switches: Low level, duty stop, duty start, standby start and high level
• Pressure control mode – Pressure boost operation controlled by up to 3 pressure switches: Duty start, standby start and low pressure
• Duty sharing and alternation – Duty pump alternates on pump start and after 30 minutes of continuous running in alternation mode, or 6 hours of accumulated running in recirculation mode
• Staggered pump start – Prevents excessive current draw and reduces water surge
• Manual pump control – Manual pump mode with optional 5 minute timeout to revert to auto mode

• Low level protection – Alarms and shuts down pumps on low level, manual reset only
• Low pressure protection – Alarms and shuts down pumps if low pressure input is closed for 60 seconds
• Prime loss protection – Alarms and shuts down running pumps if there is no flow for 30 seconds
• Pump anti-seize protection – Runs pumps periodically during low use to prevent seizing
• Pump current sensing – Provides adjustable pump overload, undercurrent and zero current protection
