The Rain Bird PGA Series 40mm Solenoid Valve with Flow Control is engineered for reliability, strength, and quiet performance in demanding commercial and high-end residential irrigation systems. Designed to handle tough environments, fluctuating pressures, and extreme temperatures, the PGA Series represents Rain Bird’s most durable plastic valve range. Its water-tight body-to-bonnet seal ensures zero leakage even under triple-digit pressure surges, while its filtered pilot-flow system provides debris resistance for consistent performance and reduced maintenance.

Built for ease of service, the PGA Series features multi-drive screws (flathead, Phillips, or hex) for quick disassembly and field maintenance, while its one-piece solenoid design with a captured plunger prevents part loss during servicing. The pressure-assisted flow control mechanism enables fine-tuning of water delivery to meet specific system requirements, while slow closing functionality eliminates water hammer for smooth, quiet operation. The PGA Series also accepts Rain Bird PRS-D pressure regulating dials and latching solenoids, providing advanced control and flexibility across a wide range of irrigation applications.

Ideal for commercial landscapes, parks, sporting fields, and high-end residential sites, the PGA 40mm valve combines rugged engineering with intelligent design. Its robust electrical performance makes it compatible with most 24 VAC controllers, and when paired with Rain Bird’s TBOS or ESP-LXIVM systems, it provides reliable operation in both conventional and two-wire configurations. Tested to outperform competitors in pressure-cycle and thermal-shock testing, the PGA Series delivers professional-grade performance, season after season.

FEATURES

  • Water-tight seal between the body and bonnet for maximum confidence, even in the most extreme conditions
  • Robust construction and electrical design for quiet performance you can count on
  • Filtered pilot flow to resist debris and clogging
  • Slow closing to prevent water hammer and subsequent system damage
  • Normally closed, forward flow design Accepts latching solenoid for use with Rain Bird battery-operated controllers
  • Multi-drive screws (Phillips, flathead, hexagonal) for easy maintenance
  • Manual internal bleed operates the valve without allowing water into the valve box. This allows the pressure regulator to be adjusted without turning the valve on at the controller
  • One-piece solenoid design with captured plunger and spring for easy servicing. Prevents loss of parts during field service Three-year trade warranty
  • Accommodates optional, field-installed PRS-D pressure regulating dial to ensure optimum sprinkler performance
  • Accepts latching solenoid for use with Rain Bird battery-operated controllers
