Franklin Electric 18DTMSP-1.1 4" Solar Bore Pump Kit Excluding Panels - Post Mount
The Franklin Electric 18DTMSP-1.1 Solar Bore Pump Kit provides a solar pumping solution for rural properties, livestock watering and remote bore water supply. Combining a 4" submersible pump and motor with a DrivE-Tech MINI Solar MP controller, this package brings together the core pumping and control components for connection to a suitably sized solar array. Its 1.1kW motor and 30-stage pump end suit applications requiring the 18 L/min nominal flow range, with final selection based on the required pumping head and daily water demand.
The included DrivE-Tech MINI Solar MP controller manages pump operation as available solar energy changes throughout the day. Franklin’s SolarPAK platform incorporates intelligent motor control and protection functions addressing conditions such as dry running and low solar irradiation. The kit also includes a flow switch and 32mm stainless steel manifold, providing the components needed for flow monitoring as part of a correctly installed and configured system.
Supplied with a 304 stainless steel pump and motor, splice kit and pole mounting bracket, this post-mount version offers a practical package for bore installations using a separately selected solar array. The -PM suffix identifies the controller’s pole mounting bracket, allowing this kit to be distinguished from the ground-mount version. Solar panels and the solar array frame are not included and must be selected separately to suit the site, controller requirements and required water output.

SELECTION AND INSTALLATION INFORMATION
-
Panels and array frame excluded: This package requires a compatible solar array and a separately selected panel mounting frame.
-
Mounting designation: The included pole bracket supports the controller assembly; it is separate from the solar panel array frame.
-
Flow performance: The 18 L/min designation is a nominal flow rating. Actual delivery depends on total dynamic head, available sunlight, array sizing and pipework losses.
-
Pump selection: Confirm the bore’s pumping water level, delivery elevation, pipe length and required daily volume before selecting the kit.
-
Installation components: Confirm the required submersible cable length, rising main, fittings and level controls separately.
-
Backup power: AC changeover equipment is not listed among this kit’s confirmed inclusions. Specify any mains or generator backup requirements when ordering.
