Signal SD-DN Series Programmable DataNodes for SDS Two-Wire Irrigation Controllers

The Signal SD-DN Series Programmable DataNodes are advanced two-wire modules designed to expand the functionality of SDS Series Two-Wire Irrigation Controllers. These smart devices allow you to connect sensors, meters, and pump relays anywhere along the two-wire path—eliminating the need for long runs of control wire and enabling intelligent, real-time system automation.

Each DataNode is fully encapsulated in a waterproof and dust-sealed plastic enclosure with an integrated LED status light for easy field diagnostics. With up to 12 DataNodes supported per controller, these modules provide flexible, scalable integration with a wide range of irrigation system components.

MODELS

• SD-DN-P – PumpNode:
  Activates a pump-start relay from any location on the two-wire network. Every SDS controller is supplied with one PumpNode by default, and additional PumpNodes can be added to control up to 8 separate pumps.
• SD-LY2-PS – PumpNode with Omron Relay & Plug-In Power Supply:
  A complete PumpNode kit that includes an Omron LY2 relay and plug-in power supply, ideal for standalone or retrofit pump control installations. Plug-and-play solution for activating a pump from the two-wire line without separate sourcing of components.
• SD-DN-SW – Switch Type DataNode:
  Detects open/closed contacts from devices such as rain switches, tank level sensors, pressure switches, or frost sensors. The SDS controller can be programmed to respond automatically to each sensor state.
• SD-DN-CN – Counter Type DataNode:
  Monitors and counts dry-contact pulses from water meters, kWh meters, or similar devices. Allows up to 7 pulse meters to be read by the controller when located remotely along the two-wire line.
